Narrowing Down Your Niche - And Boosting ProfitsHow narrow should a ' Niche 'be? It depends on what you want to do with your ' Niche Marketing'.If you are selling or offering specific products or services of interest to a sub-group of home businesses, you might do well by breaking down your target audience into interest-based categories. Having done it myself with my own lists, I can offer some insight into the process. Most of my online marketing is based around build several lists in ' sub-Niche' themes, of prospects and interacting with them, offering advice, resources, education - and then, if it is right for them, selling products and services related to their specific interests. One way to segment your audience is by creating 'sub-niche'content. For instance, for a home-based business audience, you might offer products and services in the following ' sub-niches ': * marketing Each of these are of interest to some of your general target market. So you might create an information product (an ecourse, or report, or ebook) on the ' sub-niche' topic - and offer it to your general audience. The ones who are interested in the smaller ' Niche Market'will respond to your offer - and by collecting their details, you now have a sub-group within your target audience. This is one strategy I've used effectively. I now run 27 different email lists, each one geared to a specific aspect of online marketing. A few people are on multiple lists because their interests span the different categories. On the other hand, if you're looking to take your ' Niche Marketing'to a narrower target audience, you could use a similar approach to eliminate the non-interested prospects - and keep only the ones aligned with your new focus.
